I am an Assistant Professor at the University of Louisville School of Public Health and Information Sciences. I use quantitative and qualitative data to understand social and structural factors that affect perinatal and reproductive health. As a Kentucky native, I have a special interest in state-based research that aims to inform policies that can improve health outcomes for women, infants, and children. My interest in perinatal and reproductive health began in high school and stemmed from my experiences as a female with a chronic disease navigating the healthcare system. After taking an undergraduate anthropology class about women's chronic pain and learning about the origins of "hysteria", I was inspired to pursue a Master of Public Health from the University of Illinois at Chicago in Maternal and Child Health. I earned a PhD in Public Health Sciences with a specialization in Health Management and Policy from the University of Louisville School of Public Health and Information Sciences in 2024. In my free time, I enjoy looking for bugs and treasures on hikes with my kids, piddling around on my guitar, and thrifting.
